The circular iron plate decorated with Jurojin riding a minogame in takabori, gold and silver zogan, the reverse with a wood and a gunbai in Ko kinko style, rounded mimi, with a wood box; and a Mito kinko iron tsuba, the circular iron migaki-ji plate showing a scene of Arihira Azuma kudari in takabori, gold and silver zogan, square mimi, signed Kikokusai Nukagawa Yasunori, late Edo period (19th century), with a wood box

Kaneshige usually made ita and sukashi tsuba without decoration.

Ariwara no Narihira (825-880) was one of the Rokkasen grandsons of the Emperor Saga. He is often depicted as a handsome man, riding through Suruga, on the road to Asuma after his exile from court due to some indiscretion with the Empress.

The artist of the second piece was a student of Tamagawa Yoshinaga and had many students.
