AN ITALIAN GILTWOOD MIRROR with later arched rectangular plate within an outer mirror-plated frame, the scrolling broken pediment cresting centred by a female mask crowned by a laurel wreath, with elaborately scrolling acanthus and bell-husk carved arched frame terminated by flowerheads and acanthus sprays and hung with garlanded swags to the corners, the uprights and inner frame carved with alternating cabochon and rosette and centred by an acanthus spray, the scrolled eared corners with upspringing palm-leaves above a shaped apron centred by confronting C-scrolls, with printed label to the reverse PALAZZO PODESTA/GENOVA/Via Garibaldi gia via Nuova/TEODORO/MONTABOLO/FABBRICA DI MOBILI/intagliati e dorati/DEPOSITO DI STAMPE/E LUCI DA SPECCHIO, some of the outer plates replaced, minor losses, first half 18th Century, regilt, reduced in height and reconstructed in the latter part of the 19th Century
