AN ITALIAN SILVERED, PARCEL-GILT AND STAINED WALNUT PEDESTAL with later rectangular top and egg-and-dart moulded stepped cornice above a frieze with acanthus sprays, the tapering stem with a vigorously scrolling volute carved with acanthus and lotus-leaves, on moulded stepped plinth base, orginally silvered, restorations, numbered 3 to the reverse and with chalk inscription Böhler, mid-18th Century, and a parcel-gilt and simulated grey variegated marble balustrade inscribed DONO-PARROCO/DON/L.JARDINI 1937 and with further illegible pencil inscription
