A PAIR OF MEISSEN POT-POURRI VASES AND PIERCED COVERS of inverted baluster form, painted with Watteauesque scenes of lovers in gardens, the reverses with flowers within surrounds of applied fruit and flowers, the sides with two standing putti on flared feet, the covers moulded with scrolls and with flower finials (one finial lacking, one vase with arm of one putto and hand of another lacking, crack to flange of one cover, chips to applied decoration), blue crossed swords marks, incised 2686, painted numbers 13, circa 1880
