A Swansea cylindrical two-handled pot-pourri vase, pierced cover and stand
Circa 1820, red stencil mark
Painted in the manner of David Evans with continuous garlands of garden flowers between gilt-line rims, the vase with gilt satyr's mask and ring handles, the lower part with radiating moulded foliage, the cover with gilt cone finial (both handles cracked where they join the rim and one handle with tip of foliage thumbpiece lacking, slight crack to inside base of vase, very slight rubbing to gilt well of stand and to finial)
The vase 7¾in. (20cm.) high, the stand 6½in. (17cm.) diam.

Sold with two manuscript letters from Arthur Ruck dated September 5th and 10th, 1951, the first asking the owner to sell the vase for ¨250, following its exhibition at Turner House, Penarth; the later letter increases the offer by ¨50.
