A GERMAN CIRCULAR POWDER-FLASK IN THE MANNER OF HANS SCHMIDT OF FERLACH with turned rootwood body inlaid on the front with scenes of the chase in engraved silver sheet (most of it now missing) against a background of silver-wire scrolls and dots, and with a large double-headed eagle in silver-wire, and at its centre with a vacant escutcheon with lion supporters, also in pierced silver, on the back with scrolling flowers and foliage enriched with dots, all in silver (some missing) around a bird (missing), bulbous gilt-brass baluster spout and engraved spring-loaded gilt-brass tap, both mounted on a gilt-brass plate engraved with running designs of flowers and foliage, and three applied gilt-brass brackets for suspension, third quarter of the 17th Century
