Maurizio Marochetti was the diplomat son of the more celebrated sculptor Carlo Marochetti. Maurizio was the Italian Ambassador to Copenhagen. Portrait reliefs by his hand are known, such as the present example, and it is likely he trained under his father and continued sculpting throughout his diplomatic career. He died in 1911.
