A RARE FRENCH OVER-AND-UNDER SINGLE-TRIGGER FLINTLOCK FOWLING-PIECE with four-stage barrel, the sighted upper barrel with fluted section and engraved details, and struck at the breech with the mark of G. Boulanger of Sedan (Neue Støckel 75), scroll engraved tang, signed border engraved rounded locks each with a spray of foliage on the tail, moulded full stock carved with scrollwork in relief on each side of the barrel tang (fore-end chipped and cracked on right side), sparsely engraved iron mounts including butt-plate with long tang, and pierced escutcheon, turned iron ramrod-pipes, and original iron-capped ramrod, by Soiron of Sedan, circa 1700
