The 18th century model that these are copied from can now be found in the Louvre and are illustrated in Verlet, Maure LES BRONZE DORÉS FRANCAIS p. 314. Examples were made for the King at Versailles and Fontainebleau, as well as the Queen at Saint-Cloud.
