The present bronze is cast after the terracotta original, now in the Museum at Mans, which is dated 1759. A plaster cast, also dated 1759, is in a private collection in Brussels. The terracotta was exhibited at the Petit Palais in 1900 (cf. Le Mans, Cat.).
