Peyron had a large collection of drawings, which he began in Rome. Under financial pressure he sold 1132 drawings in Versailles in 1786. He amassed another collection dispersed in a posthumous sale in 1816, P. Rosenberg and V. van der Sandt, Pierre Peyron 1747-1814, Paris, 1983, pp. 167-80
