Comparable with a drawing formerly in the Houthakker collection, P. Fuhring, Design into Art: Drawings for Architecture and Ornament, the Lodewijk Houthakker Collection,London, 1989, no. 877, illustrated
Peter Fuhring is inclined to accept the attribution, although he does not exclude the possibility of Giovanni Carlo Sicino (1713 ? - 1760), a cousin of Giuseppe. A comparable study by Sicino for Didone abbandonata of 1753 with similar buildings to those in the present drawing is at Lisbon, M.T. Muraro and E. Povoledo, Disegni teatrali dei Bibiena, Venice, 1970, no. 138, illustrated
