'To James Moore, Boatman, a Silver Medal, for gallantly in jumping overboard from the Barque Queen of the Fleet, which was stranded on rocks near Puffin Island, Beaumaris, in a gale of wind on 3 October 1872, and carrying a line to the shore (about 100 yards distant) by which the Captain, his wife, son, daughter, and seven more were rescued in a boat which was sent on shore, on the lee side of the Island, from the Tug Warrior' (The Society's 34th Annual Report refers).
