Private James [Elijah] Mann was killed in action in a counter-attack on Wytschaete on 1.11.1914, while serving with the 1st Battalion, Northumberland Fusiliers (See Westlake's British Battalions in France and Belgium 1914). Mann is commemorated on the Ypres (Menin Gate) Memorial.
