A suite of mahogany chairs of related form were supplied by John Cobb (d.1778), court cabinet-maker to King George III, in 1770 to Elizabeth Cust for Erthig, Wales (A.L. Cust, Chronicles of Erthig on the Dyke, 1914, vol. II, pp. 118 and 125)
