Oval gold box, the cover, sides and base with guilloché panels enamelled in dove grey and bordered by white enamel pellets, the cover inset with an oval portrait miniature on enamel, by Jean Petitot, of a young woman with curled brown hair, wearing a white tunic and ochre stole, within a gold frame bordered with a blue enamel band, the edges of the box with matted gold bands adorned with leaves in translucent green and with opaque blue and white pellets -- 70 mm wide
