Pierre-Robert Dezarot struck his mark in January 1775 and was sponsored by his master François-Simon Charbonné. He is last mentioned in December 1781.
The "Petit Dunkerque" was a celebrated marchand-mercier, or fancy goods shop, under the reigns of Louix XV and Louis XVI, situated at the corner of Quai de Conti and rue Dauphine. It was directed by Granchez and went bankrupt in 1776. A trade card of this shop is illustrated in A. Kenneth Snowman, Eighteenth Century Gold Boxes of Europe, London, 1966, illustr. nr 96.
