Rectangular case of slightly tapering shape, all sides set with tinted shell panels within chased gold borders, the sides of the top applied with gold inscription "Souvenir d'amitié", the borders chased with bands of laurel in green gold, one side of the base inset with an oval portrait miniature of a young lady with powdered hair, in a green-blue dress, within a gold mount applied with four green and red gold rosettes, the back within identical frame containing a gold monogram "JCvG" on a hair ground, under glass; inside tablets -- 93 mm high
