Geneva, circa 1780, maker's mark "LFT", bearing prestige marks including the charge of Julien Alaterre and date-letter crowned "K"
Oval gold box, the cover, base and sides with cartouches enamelled in blue to look like lapis-lazuli, within white narrow enamelled bands, the borders chased with foliage and flowerheads in red and green gold, the lid with a central oval enamel plaque depicting a boy presenting a bird to a gentleman in Turkish costume with his daughter holding the birdcage, framed by a gold leaf border -- 82 mm wide, minor repair
