A rare and comprehensive album of portraits and views including the significant architecture of the city, with studies of individual buildings and gardens as well as townscape views and street scenes, with two studies of French firemen one of which shows them practising fire-fighting techniques; three full-size Peruvian portraits and 124 carte-de-visite-size portraits, of which approx. one third show Peruvians and immigrants from Africa and the Far East, the remainder being portraits of European or American women.

The photographs are most probably by Eugenio Courret who was the most active photographer of the family firm.
