Lot Essay

An unusual design for a Yomut mafrash, this piece also has very idiosyncratic knotting with a seemingly arbitrary use of 'Turkish' and 'Persian' knots. For a discussion on Yomut mafrash, see: Pinner, R.: 'Small is beautiful, the Yomut Mafrash', editorial feature in HALI, vol.4, no.1, 1981, pp.10-19
