Charles Jean-Baptiste Bernadotte (1763-1844), King Charles XIV of Sweden 1818-1844, with curly black hair and short sidewhiskers, wearing a dark blue uniform with gold-embroidered collar, a black-lined blue cloak draped over his right shoulder, decorated with the breast-star and the blue sash of the Royal Swedish Order of the Seraphim, the breast-star and cross of the Royal Swedish Order of Charles XIII, and the crosses of the Royal Swedish Orders of the Sword, the Polar Star, and the Wasa; cloudy sky background; rectangular -- 93 x 84 mm , gilt-bronze mount with crown surmount on an ebonized rectangular wood panel.
