This drum with its steeply flaring sides and shallow engraved decoration on a ring-pounced ground is similar to two published examples in Copenhagen and in Munich (Folsach, K. v.: Islamic Art - the David Collection, Copenhagen, 1990, no.352, p.210; Erdmann, H and K.: Iranische Kunst in Deutschen Museen, Wiesbaden, 1967, no.28, and Türkische Kunst und Kultur aus Osmanischer Zeit, exhibition catalogue, Recklinghausen, 1985, vol.2, no.11/33, pp.368-9). The Munich example adds to the decoration of the other two with applied inlaid and inset panels
