the famous collection of poetry, Persian manuscript on gold-sprinkled buff paper, 168ff., plus four flyleaves, each with 14ll. of extremely fine black shikasteh in two columns, occasional portions of text placed centrally, gold interlinear and intercolumnar divisions between black rules, similar inner and outer margins, (occasional small repairs and smudging, negligible staining), opening folio with gold and polychrome illuminated heading, and with blue and gold illuminated margins and gold clouds between the lines of text (f.2 replaced), final folio with colophon signed by Mirza Kuchak 'Ali Katib al-Khaqan (the royal scribe) and dated AH 1236/1820-1 AD, blue lacquer binding with gold and red border (relacquered)
