The 39th Regiment (Dorsetshire) served in Australia from 1827-1832. This is an early example of Australian scrimshaw.

AN ANTIQUE DECORATED POWDER HORN
Lacking stopper, carved with three bands, the largest engraved 'NEW SOUTH WALES', the body engraved with regimental device of the 39th Regiment; a three masted ship, a man playing a harp to a woman with exposed breasts, the motto 'Advance Australia' flanked by an emu and kangaroo, and two rhymes
'Gold and silver cups are pris'd;
The reason is they're costly;
Give me the HORN that's fill'd with grog.
Because it is more homely.'
'The national pride of Irishmen;
is Whisky in galore,
They'll drink me dry and dry again
and boldly call for more.'
