A LARGE CARVED LONGQUAN CELADON DISH
LATE 14TH/EARLY 15TH CENTURY

Well carved in the center with a blossoming tree and on the interior and exterior petal-molded sides with a row of chrysanthemum sprigs, all below an everted rim carved on top with a foliate band within a raised bracket-lobed edge, covered overall with an olive-green glaze continuing over the shallow ring foot to cover all of the base except for an irregular ring left unglazed and burnt red in the firing, glaze abraded--17 1/8in. (43.5cm.) across
