Probably an image robe, elaborately worked in fine couched gold threads and satin stitch with a dense allover pattern of writhing dragons below a pair of confronted phoenix at the collar, amidst colored clouds and gold knobbed scroll, against a golden-yellow ground, all above the hem decorated with turbulent waves and rockwork emblazoned with peony heads, the sides and underseam of sleeves left unsewn, some loose threads, some wear and staining-- 55 1/4/in. (140.3cm.) long
