MAKER'S MARK OF PHILIPP JAKOB DRENTWETT I, AUGSBURG, 1610-1615

On circular foot chased with a band of matted lobing, rising to a knop with strapwork and scrolls on a matted ground and a baluster stem with three scroll brackets, chased with lobes and supporting a tapering bowl with strapwork, drapery and fruit on a matted ground, the cover with conforming decoration and surmounted by a warrior finial, marked on rim and cover, also struck with later French control marks -- 11½in. (29.2cm.) high
