In the rococo taste, of shaped rectangular form, on four scroll feet supporting an openwork apron of rocaille foliate scrolls continuing to four scroll and leaf-clad corners, framing four panels with applied elaborate rocaille cartouches, two with engraved coat-of-arms and crest, the rim applied with tear-drop and scalloping, the flat-domed cover with similar eaborate chasing and a central rocaille sunburst, marked under base and on cover, also stamped MAKEPEACE LONDON--5 1/4in.(13.4cm.) high
