Of tapering cylindrical form on three ball feet chased with scrolls and rocaille and headed by applied cherub's heads amid acanthus, the lower body chased with a similiar rocaille and scroll band and engraved above with a similiar band, the tubular scroll handle terminating in a mask and with similar applied scroll decoration, the similar ball thumbpiece surmounted by baluster finial, the hinged domed cover chased with a similar scroll band with applied circular cartouches with classical masks at intervals, the cover set with a medal dated 1743, marked under base--7 3/4in. (19.6cm.) high
