In the rococo taste, comprising tea kettle on lampstand, coffeepot, teapot, hot milk jug, cream jug and sugar basin; each of baluster form on four stepped hoof feet, headed by acanthus leaves, the bodies chased and engraved with foliate decoration, the scroll handle leaf-clad with beading, with wood insulators; the kettle on circular stand raised on four scroll supports, the hinged domed cover chased and surmounted by a flowerhead finial rising from a calyx of leaves, with overhead swing wood-clad handle, with central wood-handled baluster burner, the oblong two-handled tray chased with similar rocaille decoration, together with a circular tea strainer and pair of sugar tongs, fully marked--height of kettle 14in.(35.5cm.) in fitted leather-covered chest, the interior of the cover inscribed J.C.
