A RUSSIAN NIELLO COVERED CAVIAR DISH AND STAND
MOSCOW, CIRCA 1883, MAKER'S MARK VASILLI SEMENOV
Comprising a circular raised tray, bowl and domed lid, each with views of Moscow monuments within circular medallions surrounded by niello arabesques on matted gilt ground, the tray with two additional cartouches enclosing the dates 1883 and 1888 and centrally engraved with a palace, the inside of the cover with dedication inscription in German, marked under bases and lid- the tray 7in. (18cm.) diam.
