A JAPANESE LACQUERED-METAL AND EMBELLISHED BOTTLE, QIANLONG MARK, POSSIBLY TSUDA FAMILY, KYOTO, of wide spade shape, embellished with various materials and painted with a gentleman scholar seated at a table playing a qin, a woman, possibly dancing, stands before him, nearby is a large screen below a willow, the other side with a gentleman taking wine seated at a table, kang, with attendants near pine, the narrow sides applied with pearls, coral and jadeite, the ground painted brown, perhaps imitating amber or tortoise-shell, cracks and repair, stopper; together with a similar bottle of flattened tulip shaped painted with two ladies watching a crane from behind a screen under pine, the reverse with a lady seated in a pavilion near plantain, a young boy with a vessed approaching a bird, the sloping shoulders applied with pearls, some losses and minor repairs, stopper (2)
