Of oval form on spreading foot chased with a band of gadrooning, the tied reed handles issuing from lion's masks, the shoulder applied with a band of dentilation below a gadrooned rim, the domed cover chased with a band of ovolo and surmounted by a heraldic crest finial, the body and cover engraved on both sides with a coat-of-arms upon ermine mantling, fully marked--length over handles 17in.(43cm.)

The arms are those of Glyn impaling those of Plumptre, as borne by Sir Richard Carr Glyn, born in 1755, the eminent banker and Lord Mayor of London. He was M.P. for St. Ives, Cornwall 1796-1802 and a firm supporter of Pitt's administration. He married Mary, only daughter of John Plumptre. He died aged 83 in 1838.
