The A side with Theseus fighting the Cretan bull on the plain of Marathon, which he controls with a rope tied around its horns and held in his left hand, his club held in his raised right hand, the hero is nude but for a chlamys around his shoulders and a baldric across his chest, a petasos hangs from his neck in back, the bull is in added white with details in light brown, Athena with shield and spear looks on from the right, while on the left are a nude male companion, probably Perithoos, with a chlamys, hanging petasos, and two spears, and a female, perhaps Medea, wearing a peplos, both wearing a fillet in added white, the B side with three draped youths, the two to the right facing the third to the left, each wearing a fillet in added white, a band of meander and chequered squares below each scene, laurel above, palmettes below the handles, intact, 13 1/2in. (34.3cm.) diam., 13 3/16in. (33.4cm.) high
