In a letter from Harry Callahan to Edwynn Houk, dated August 23, 1982, the artist refers to the photograph offered here. He describes the print as "a fine, vintage gelatin silver print which I made shortly after making the negative. The print remained in a box until the early 1960's when I chose to mount it so that it could be exhibited."
