The rectangular top with canted corners above a conforming case fitted with a sliding writing surface and two graduated long drawers with raised edges, the top drawer opening to a baize-lined hinged surface and compartmentalized interior flanked by canted corners embellished with rectangular reserves over a brass trim above two parcel-gilt ring-turned columns and two parcel-gilt and vert-antique carved dolphin supports above an abacus base, on four gilded and vert-antique carved dolphin legs fitted with brass castors
