Château La Mission-Haut-Brion--Vintage 1966

Château La Mission-Haut-Brion--Vintage 1966
Talence (Graves), cru classé.
"Overall: impressively deep, intense appearance; extraordinary
nose, vigorous, high-toned but not completely knit and with a
distinctive whiff of volatile acidity, not unlike the '70 La
Mission. An exciting mouthful. Very sweet, full-bodied with
flesh and fruit. A slightly metallic finish. After the Karl-Heinz
Wolf tasting in 1986, an impériale was consumed at dinner:
perfection. Last noted May 1991. At best five stars. Living life
to the hilt." JMB
