This painting is probably a work from about 1905 and relies upon the lessons of morotai, a combination of Western and Japanese style painting. The tree forms, a single essential type varied through the density of color, are rendered without line. Of particular interest is the description of the mist that rises between the trees and the subtly shaded golden colors of the sky.
