Of vase-shaped form, on spreading circular foot applied with a band of laurels, the lower body chased with a band of stiff leaves, each side applied with a circular grapevine cartouche enclosing an engraved coat-of-arms within drapery mantling, the rim applied with a similar laurel band, the bifurcated handles formed as entwined snakes, the domed cover flat-chased with panels of fishscale alternating with applied flowerheads, the finial formed as an openwork foliate grapevine, the cover engraved with a crest, marked on base and cover--14 1/2in.
