A related birth and baptismal certificate is in the collection of the Philadelphia Museum of Art (Garvan, fig. 36, p.307) and is inscribed for Carolina Emilia Wertz, a daughter of Peter and Catharina (Gaumer) Wertz. This birth and baptismal has the date 11 October 1827, suggesting the probability that this artist worked during the early years of the 19th century and dated his birth and baptismal records earlier than their actual date of manufacture, a practice common among fraktur artists. Two watercolor drawings illustrated in Weiser, The Gift is Small, The Love is Great (figs. 43, 44, p.56-57), suggest that these drawings may be the work of Michael Froelich, Lehigh County.
