S.E. Musselman, Milford Township, Bucks County, Pennsylvania, dated 1840
Worked in dark blue, olive and dark pink wool on a cream ground in rows of alternating color in alternating bands of floral rosettes with small medallions and large stars with small medallions, the whole in a repeating band of, "Pennsylvan" forwards and backwards, enclosed in a double star border, the corner blocks inscribed "THIS COVERLET BELONGS TO ME MARIA HELLER 1840" and "S.E. MUSSELMAN COVERLET WEAVER MILFORD BUCKS CO. No144," fringed all around
