Of cylindrical form, the moulded spreading foot chased with a band of overlapping laurel, the body cast and applied with a Roman chariot race beneath elaborate trailing foliate grape vines on a matted ground, the handle realistically formed as the base of the vine, the domed cover with a foliate scroll grape vine above rocaille, the finial in the form of a cherub brandishing grapes, marked on body, cover, finial, the foot also stamped STORR & MORTIMER LONDON--14in.
