Of vase-shaped form on a shaped circular spreading foot with elaborate foliate scroll and acanthus decoration on a matted ground, the foot terminating in a lobed calyx, the body with a a later applied shaped vacant cartouche and elaborately decorated with grapes, scrolls, acanthus, fishscale, rocaille and a trailing grape vine on a matted ground, with a foliate scroll handle and similar rim, the hinged cover with openwork foliate grape finial,marked on body and cover--15 3/8in. (39cm.) high
