A RARE EARLY MING ANHUA-DECORATED WHITE-GLAZED STEMCUP
15TH CENTURY, PROBABLY INTERREGNUM PERIOD

The deep bowl with lipped rim raised on a slightly flared pedestal foot, with a trailing 'S'-shaped ribbon of cloud incised in the centre below the pair of anhua five-clawed dragons striding around the sides in pursuit of 'flaming pearls', covered overall in a clear glaze of even tone--5 3/4in. (14.5cm.) diam.
