The thick, rectangular plaque carved on one side with two figures in a river landscape, one an attendant cleaning an inkstone by the river's edge, the other an elderly scholar watching him from the balcony of a roofed pavilion, the river represented by finely incised wavy lines, with a gilt-highlighted poem, entitled Di Yen Tu Shi, inscribed in cai shu in the upper left hand corner, the semi-translucent stone softly polished and of even tone with some whitish inclusions--9in. x 6¼in. x ½in.
