A fine 16-inch (40.6cm.) diameter terrestrial library globe made up of twelve chromolithogrpahed gores, the equatorial graduated in degrees and hours, the prime meridian and equinoctial colure graduated in degrees, the ecliptic graduated in days of the month and of the houses of the Zodiac, the oceans with an analemma, ocean currents, steamship routes with ports of arrival and departure and distances in nautical miles and seasonal variations, submarine cable lines and the international date line, the continents with nation states variously and delicately shaded and finely detailed showing towns, cities, rivers, mountains, canals, telegraph lines, railways, caravan routes, ruins, glaciers, deserts, volcanos, elevation in feet, swamps, shelf ice and shortwave radio broadcasting stations, with an aluminium hour dial embossed REPLOGLE GLOBES INC. ILL., U.S.A., moulded meridian circle in a mahogany Duncan Phyfe-style stand, with unpapered horizon supported on four curved quadrant supports to central reeded urn column and four downswept legs terminating in brass lion's paw feet -- 40in.
