This model, built up in nine lifts, shaped, sanded and faired to the lines of the tugboat. The shaped hull is marked with the plating diagram for the ship. As part of the markings are the dimensions of most of the plates. The model is mounted on a backboard which is labeled on the front: #65/Steel Harbor Tug/70' x 18" x 19' 4"/made for International Paper Co./Made By Johnson Brothers/1914.
8¾ x 39¼ in.(22.3 x 99.7 cm.) model on backboard.

Included with this lot is a copy of TELESCOPE the magazine for the Great Lakes Maritime Institute with listings for this tugboat, and photo copies of the handwritten ship listings from the period. The PHILIP T. DODGE had principal dimensions of: LOA - 61.7ft, Beam - 18.2ft, Draft - 8.5ft, Gross Tonnage - 74 tns. She was a steel hulled, single screw, built in 1914.
