Of rounded-square form decorated with an elephant and a karako holding a hoe in takabori and iroe takazogan, the reverse with a Chinese man seated beside bundles of faggots, signed Miyajimashi Oju, Chikusanken Teikan and Kao, late Edo period (19th century), 7.1cm.

The artist Okawa Teikan was born in 1828 in Mito, the son of Motosada. Both were metal workers to the daimyo of Mito.
