A Chelsea model of a Chinese pheasant
Circa 1750, raised red anchor mark
Decorated in the London workshop of William Duesbury, naturally modelled and perched astride a tapering tree-stump, with purple and red head-feathers, and purple body, wing and tail-feathers and iron-red legs, the tree-stump applied with branches and moulded and applied with coloured flowers and foliage (two pieces broken from back and repaired, broken through tree-stump and repaired, associated damage to supporting branch which has two pieces lacking, two small branches lacking, chipping to foliage and end of three tail-feathers, broken through neck and repaired, some restoration to beak and tail feathers)
